Believe it or not, Neil has decided to give up the booze and his partying bachelor lifestyle in order to train for this one off event, that he decided would be a great idea on a night out in Verbier.  Hats off to him, it’s not going to be easy!

So, on  15^th of August 2010 (weather permitting) he  intends to row ( in one day) 76 km’s across lake Geneva in a one man boat to raise money for St Mungo’s  and to give a little more hope to London’s homeless people .  Those of you that have attempted anything more than 10 minutes on the rowing machine will appreciate just how tough this is going to be.

Please also join the Facebook group, ‘Neil does Lake Geneva’ for information on how you can be a part of this very special event.  We will be organising supporter (party) boats to cheer Neil on and would love for you all to jump onboard and be part of this momentous occassion!

I am lucky enough in my life to have a loving family who no matter how bad life gets will always provide me with a place to stay, food and support.  Some people are not so fortunate and often through a variety of causes end up with no place to turn and end up living on the streets of London.

Having lived in and around the city of London for most of my adult life I have seen the growing number of people who live their lives on the streets.  I am not sure about you but I have always hesitated in giving money to people who are living rough because of my fear that the money will be used to fuel a quick fix of escapism that alcohol or drugs can bring.  

St Mungo’s is an established charity that works tirelessly to give hope and a better life to London’s homeless community.  www.mungos.org
